across the street. I'm working from home today and I see this enormous bird land across the street. The crows are going wild - not happy at all. I take a closer look & grab my camera. One shot is what I got.
I called the Woodland Park Zoo and asked if any of their raptors were missing. Nope, all where they should be. I was informed that there were a few mating pairs just north of us. This juvenile (you can tell, because the white head feathers have not come in yet) came a few miles south to find a meal. I was told those feathers don't come in for a couple of years. I have never seen an eagle in our neighborhood in the 11 years I've lived here. A few stray ducks from the two ponds nearby, but never an eagle.
This really made my day....what a wonderful sight.

Wow that is wonderful!!! We get the occasional red tailed hawk but there was one peacock that came into the neighborhood. Never did find out where he came from. Neighbor managed to get him penned and I think he may have clipped his wings cause he still has him. He is gorgeous, struts about in the spring with his tail feathers all out!!! I'll have to sneak a pic.
Way cool, Ruth!!! I need to post that one we took the photo of at WSU!!!
