My best friend and neighbor was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this month....in the same breast that was treated 13 years ago (lumpectomy). After all the scans, x-rays, MRIs, blood tests & such, I took her to the hospital last Tuesday for a mastectomy.
Luckily, it was caught early & no lymph nodes needed to be removed. She is home, cancer free - again - and no chemotherapy!!
How blessed we are that she will be with us many, many more years.
